Hello! Thank you for Tuning in to Green Tea anime. Here is 10 random facts about Afro Samurai  that really interest me. if you don’t like to read or just prefer a video instead please check out my YouTube channel GreenTea to watch the top 10. With the introduction out the way let’s start!

Number 10

The voice of Afro Samurai is none other than super-actor Samuel L. Jackson. While he is the most popular actor on the set, another popular American actor voices the part of Justice: Ron Perlman. If you’re a fan of either actor, you’ll definitely want to check out this series. Both actors definitely lend some of their brand of acting to the manga series. Jackson also voices Ninja Ninja.

Number 9

Takashi Okazaki first began drawing African-American characters on Kleenex boxes and other such items as a teen. His drawing was inspired by his love of soul and hip-hop music. Additionally, he also loved how America media depicted Japanese culture and drew ideas from there as well. Once he started combining these efforts with those of the elements of samurai, he eventually developed Afro Samurai. Afro was also based on Yasuke, the legendary black samurai who existed in Japan during the Sengoku period.

Number 8

Afro is, of course, a swordsman of the highest skill. He is able to shatter bullets and deflect crossbow bolts with his sword in addition to performing lethal attacks. He can also us his subconscious for creating new combat techniques in the middle of a fight, which was taught to him by Sword Master.

Number 7

this is a short one in Resurrection, the afro samurai movie in the gambling room scene, creator Takashi “Bob” Okazaki is seen fondling two strippers.

Number 6

the second afro samurai video game Revenge of Kuma was removed from PSN and Steam in November 2015. Since it was a digital-only title, this rendered the game almost impossible to obtain. While those who played it are relieved, those who wish to engage are gonna have to get a used PS4 or PC that happens to have it, and given the game’s negative reception, good luck finding one.

Number 5

afro samurai has a lot of references in a bunch of media such as In Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!, the #1 Headband — or Head “Biatch” — can be worn if you play as Aurelia the Baroness. In Enter the Gungeon, the Cultist’s passive item, a bandanna called Number 2, is a reference to the Number 2 Headband. J from Samurai Shodown is an obvious copy of Afro himself. Teen Titans Go!, believe it or not. One of the sandwich masters that appear in the episode “Sandwich Thief” resembles Afro.

we have another short and sweet fact but Ninja Ninja’s Informal Eulogy was impromptu on Samuel L. Jackson’s part.

not only was the game canceled but also the manga series Revenge of Kuma was cancelled after the negative reception of Volume One.

number 2

After the extent of Michael’s mechanization is shown, and considering how long it took to reveal him, he got cut down pretty easily. A storyboard in the art booklet that comes with the director’s cut of Resurrection shows what appears to be Michael using his chains to fling himself at Afro, even though he’s somewhat stationary in the movie. It can be inferred that the creators originally intended to make Michael more mobile and lethal

number 1

Kelly Hu gets second billing in all the promotional materials which basically means her name shows up second on all the ads for the movie even though her character shows up halfway through the story and dies about twenty minutes after her introduction.
