Hello! Thank you for Tuning in to Green Tea anime. Today I’m going to review Spy X Family and let you know if it’s worth the watch or read. if you dont like to read or just prefer a video instead please check out my youtube channel GreenTea to watch the review. I personally haven’t read the Spy X Family manga but I have watched all the episodes that have come out so far and currently we are on episode 18. I have so many thoughts that I can’t wait to share with you so now that the introduction is over let’s begin.

Background

Spy × Family is an anime television series based on the manga series of the same title by Tatsuya Endo. Endo is best known for creating Tista, Gekka Bijin and Spy × Family. Spy × Family has been serialized in the Shōnen Jump+ magazine since 2019 and has reached a milestone of 10 million physical and digital copies in circulation within its first seven volumes.

Plot

The series follows master spy Twilight, who must disguise himself as psychiatrist Loid Forger and build a mock family in order to investigate political leader Donovan Desmond. Unbeknownst to him, his wife, Yor, is actually an assassin known as the Thorn Princess, while his daughter, Anya, has telepathic abilities.

Review

This anime is honestly my favorite to have come out in the last year. The story is so unique and wholesome it’s honestly one of a kind. I can’t really compare it to much, this is one of the few children friendly animes that I enjoy and keep enjoying every week. The characters all having a special talents that the others don’t know about except for Anya since she can read minds. But the relationship the characters have with each other as they try to act like a normal family but always end up in some crazy scenario. Furthermore they always end up doing something no normal person can do like Anya trying to help out while still doing it in a way that doesn’t expose her psychic abilities or Yor acting like a simple married woman even though she’s a bloody assassin and can kick a car so hard it swerves off the road into a lamppost or even Loid acting like a psychiatrist even though he’s actually a super spy that’s keeping the country from going to war and stopping terrorism. This show is so crazy at times yet it never feels like something that’s too far from reality, which I feel like keeps it really entertaining. If you want something wholesome and good this is the best show you can possibly watch I also feel like it’s a great introduction to anime as well for any first time watchers or readers. I honestly love Spy × Family which I can’t say about a lot of anime I watch I never felt like I was losing interest in the show as it went on or that the show got worse after the first season because honestly it didn’t it’s giving me the same joy the first season did. I’ll give this anime a 9.5/10 there’s a reason every one at every convention is dressing up as Anya and you should honestly experience it yourself. Thank you for reading please donate if you enjoyed the review let me know in the comments what you think about Spy × Family do you hate it or enjoy are you a part of the anyapocalypse I know I am!
